On June 21, 2022 at approximately 6:50 p.m., Watervliet police officers responded to the 1500 block of Sixth Avenue with members of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to conduct an inquiry of a juvenile parolee who was alleged to be in possession of a firearm.
Officers located a loaded, illegally possessed, 9 mm revolver (photo attached) with a defaced serial number at the parolee’s residence.
Watervliet Police charged the juvenile, a 17-year-old male, who is on parole for Robbery in the 1st Degree, with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (Class C Felony) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (Class D Felony). The defendant was arraigned in Albany City Court and released on his own recognizance.
