On August 1, 2023, the Watervliet Police Department investigated an unlawful possession of a firearm complaint at the Highland Club Apartments.

At the conclusion of a search warrant, an illegally-possessed, .380 caliber handgun was recovered from the residence.

Watervliet police charged Frank Lipka, a 45-year-old male from Watervliet (photo attached) and Cheraba Lipka, a 44-year-old female from Watervliet (photo attached) with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4^th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).

Both were arraigned in Watervliet City Court and released on appearance tickets.
