On June 1, 2023, at approximately 12 a.m., the Watervliet Police Department responded to the area of Sixteenth Street and Fourth Avenue for an active larceny from a vehicle complaint. Upon a search of the area, officers observed several juveniles who matched the description of the offenders, traveling in a vehicle nearby. As a result, a motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of the Congress Street Bridge.

 

Officers located a loaded, illegally-possessed, .380 caliber handgun, along with several proceeds from the larcenies, inside the vehicle. As a result, the four juveniles were arrested.

 

Watervliet Police charged all the juveniles with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (Class C Felony).

 

The defendants were arraigned in Albany County Family Court and released to the supervision of probation.
