How To Obtain Incident Reports

Incident reports or other items:

  • Residents must complete a FOIL request either online or in-person with the City Clerk. It usually takes 3-5 days from the time they file the FOIL request to receive the report from the City Clerk.
  • The fee is $.25/sheet or $5/DVD.

How To Obtain Accident Reports

Accident Reports:

  • Accident reports can be picked up ONLY at the police department – residents no longer request these reports through the city clerk.
    The hours to pick up accident reports at WPD are:
    Mon- Fri 7:30am – 11:30am & 1pm – 3pm.
  • The chief’s secretary will handle these requests. In her absence, a police officer or sergeant will handle it.
  • There is no longer a fee being charged for accident reports.
  • Residents can request accident reports via email now as well: AccidentReports@watervliet.com
