At approximately 11:41PM on Thursday, April 9th, 2021, Watervliet Police Officer’s Cheban and McNally conducted a traffic stop on the Congress Street Bridge after observing violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. Upon investigation, it was discovered the vehicle was being operated with a suspended registration. The driver, Ramiesha E. Williams, had a suspended NYS Driver’s License. In addition, an open container of alcohol was observed in the vehicle.
Upon an inventory search of the vehicle, Officers Cheban and McNally located two (2) illegally possessed, loaded handguns. As a result, Williams, along with the two passengers, Davonte S. Davis, and Taquan M. Davis were arrested.
The driver, Ramiesha E. Williams, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (Class C Felony), and several Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. Davonte S. Davis and Taquan M. Davis were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (Class C Felony). All three were transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility and detained pending arraignment.
