On April 12, 2021 at around 6:00PM, Watervliet police officers conducted an investigation in front of 808 4th Ave. in the Port Schuyler section of Watervliet. During the investigation, RAYMOND YANNICK, of Rensselaer, New York fled on foot and was detained after a short foot pursuit. During the process, YANNICK allegedly resisted arrest and threw a small bag containing a loaded .45 caliber handgun, drugs and money. The occupant of 808 4th Ave., JULIE MURLEY, of Watervliet, New York, allegedly attempted to conceal the bag from police officers while they were effecting the arrest of YANNICK.

YANNICK was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Class C Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (Class C Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree (Class D Felony), 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor) and Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor). YANNICK was virtually arraigned on 4/13/2021 and held pending a preliminary hearing.

YANNICK is currently on pre-trial release from Rensselaer City Court for Attempted Murder, Assault and Criminal Possession of a Weapon charges.

MURLEY was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence (Class E Felony) and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). She was released on an appearance ticket.
