On February 24, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Watervliet Police Department responded to a menacing complaint on 23rd Street. As a result, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of Seth M. Knox and his brother, Jona T. Knox, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
A records check indicated that Jona T. Knox was a parole absconder. In addition, a loaded, illegally-possessed, .45 caliber handgun (photo attached) was recovered from Seth Knox’s residence after a coordinated search performed by the Watervliet Police Department, Albany County Sheriff’s Office and the Green Island Police Department.
Watervliet police charged Seth M. Knox, a 34-year-old male from Watervliet (photo attached) with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (Class C Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Menacing in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree (Unclassified Misdemeanor) and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
Seth M. Knox was arraigned in Watervliet City Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility. Jona T. Knox was turned over to the New York State Division of Parole and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
